1-2-1 Personal Development Coaching

Samantha Tasker Robbins

Life Coach, Mentor and CBT Practitioner

Who I am

I trained as a Life Coach and CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) Practitioner at The Academy of Modern Applied Psychology. I am also an experienced Director of Live Events, producing conferences, product launches, workshops and awards ceremonies. I am a mother to two teenagers, a singer and a songwriter. Music and psychology are my passions.

Who I work with

I specialise in coaching women to deal with personal, business and family-orientated issues and help them to get over the many hurdles that life throws at them; juggling work and home life, career obstacles, power struggles, workplace stress, confidence, self-esteem, imposter syndrome, illness, menopause, relationships, Neurodiversity, and other family issues that can get in the way of progress. I have personal experience in all these areas, and also specialise in dealing with breast cancer having recently gone through this battle.

What I do

My role as coach is to help people to navigate through life… to help them recognise the different aspects of their human functioning, both positive and negative, and to help them understand how their own thoughts can hinder them. I guide clients to find solutions to their own problems and help them put an actionable plan in place to achieve positive transformation. I help empower people to become the change they want to see in their own world.

What is Life Navigation?

Life Navigation is an exploration of our thinking patterns, training the mind to be fitter to enable us to develop more efficient coping strategies and solutions. In the same way that our bodies need the right fuel and exercise for optimum performance, our thoughts and beliefs also need to be trained, and sometimes challenged, in order for us to operate effectively.

What is CBT?

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy encompasses a range of techniques and approaches that address thoughts, emotions, and behaviours and the correlation between them. It is an exploration of emotional triggers caused by negative and distorted thinking patterns. By identifying the unhelpful thoughts behind our emotions, we can help to restructure thinking patterns to be more flexible and to encourage positive, constructive behaviour.

TESTIMONIALS

Claire B – Director, Healthcare Communications

“Sam is an exceptional life coach and CBT practitioner.  From her own experiences and passion, she has created a warm, welcoming and safe environment for clients and has a non-judgmental, positive and encouraging approach to helping each person find their value and navigate their own course in life.

I started seeing Sam to build my confidence and self-esteem as I started a new role during lockdown. Having never had counselling or coaching of any kind previously, I was not sure what to expect. Sam readily creates trust and rapport with her clients, helping people to feel at ease, to connect their past to their future, to have a deeper awareness of self, to overcome their fears and to grow and achieve everything they were meant to.

If you want a life coach who is truly empathetic, treats everyone as an individual and really goes the extra mile to support their clients, then I would not hesitate in recommending Sam. “

H. Thomas – Director, Education Industry

“I can highly recommend Sam Tasker Robbins. My initial trepidation at stepping into the unknown and speaking with a stranger about how to deal with my own goals, aspirations and uncertainties was soon salved. Sam’s life coach skills and approach to CBT has been a positive, forward-looking and optimistic experience.

Her style is levelled and thought provoking and has enabled me to move beyond my self-placed blocks to a clearer understanding of myself, my current place and just where I am headed. Through a series of sessions relating to how I think and behave, my approach to past, present and future is broader. I certainly have a greater understanding of self and recognition of my strengths. Sam has a fluid approach and is clearly well versed with the theories and strategies underpinning CBT. She created a comfortable, easy environment that was welcoming, and her style/approach felt unique to my situation. She took an active role in conversations linking clearly to points of interest and ultimate change, resulting in a more positive and certainly more knowledgeable and empowered me.”

Catherine L – Sociolinguistics Specialist

“Sam really helped me during a time of intense, sudden and never before experienced anxiety, panic and depression disorder, most probably as a result of menopause. Sam knows I am scientific by nature, so she really focused on the physiological effects of menopause-related hormone imbalances and brain chemistry on mental health which was hugely illuminating; but she also gently helped me see that CBT techniques can still help – because Anxiety works in systematic ways, regardless of its cause, and beating it at its own game is a strategy that can help. She really tailored the session to me, knowing I like reading, and visual reminders/metaphors, and even gave me a presentation of what we’d discussed, and some mediation audio. She massively helped me come to terms with the worst experience in my life, and I moved forward in a much more positive frame of mind. Her demeanour is so calm, she instantly puts you at ease. Her role in my recuperation has been significant and I’m hugely grateful.”
